Opportunities

Student Leadership

We recognize leadership qualities in our students and encourage them to develop. Children across the campus receive leadership achievement awards at assemblies.

Catherine McAuley School also has a Student Representative Council and a Student Prayer and Liturgy Committee for which students can nominate. These bodies are designed to give students a say in how the school is run as well as develop social justice and leadership skills in students.

Sport

As the children at Catherine McAuley School move through the Middle and Upper primary age group they are given opportunities to represent the school in full day sports carnivals. Participation in these carnivals helps the students to develop valuable life skills such as cooperation, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.

Through our schools involvement in these sporting carnivals parents have been able to develop strong social networks and build a wonderful sense of community.

All students are allocated to a House Team when they begin at Catherine McAuley.

The school is affiliated with SAPSASA (South Australian Primary Schools Amateur Sports Association). This creates a fabulous opportunity for our students to participate against other schools. Catherine McAuley School students in Years 5 to 7 have opportunities in representing the Elizabeth District in chosen sports.

Elizabeth District Swimming Carnival (Salisbury) - Participation in these carnivals helps the students to develop valuable life skills such as cooperation, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.

Through our schools involvement in these sporting carnivals parents have been able to develop strong social networks and build a wonderful sense of community.

Away from home

We offer students away from home experiences to broaden their resilience as part of our Outdoor Education program. We cater for all ages and your child will love the fun they share with their classmates and teachers. These build up their school relationships and friendships.

Children in the Primary Years experience a one night school sleepover in our Evangelista Learning Centre as part of our Outdoor Education program.
Children in Middle School Years experience a 1-2 night camp off-site as part of our Outdoor Education program. Previous camps were held at West Beach, Victor Harbour, Mount Crawford and Woodhouse Scout Camp.
