What is Middle School?
Our Middle School aims to provide students with a smooth transition between primary school and secondary school.
As a Middle School, we cater for the specific needs of young adolescents. We provide our students with a caring environment that promotes self esteem and a sense of personal responsibility.
Our Middle School students’ needs are met through a curriculum that is of interest and relevance to them. Our students are encouraged to be responsible for their learning through negotiated topics and self assessment. We give our students the opportunity to work with a number of teachers in preparation for their transition to secondary school.
We provide students with the opportunity to be involved in a Sustainable garden committee to engage hands on learners.
We encourage our Middle School students to become leaders. Our students are involved in buddy programs with younger students, they have the opportunity to be elected as a house captains or vice captains and be part of the student representative council.
We have close connections with our local colleges and we have a transition program for our year seven students at the end of the year.
