In Year 4, we’ve been diving into the exciting world of forces during Science. Through a variety of hands-on experiments, we’ve explored how friction, gravity, and magnetism work in our everyday lives. We’ve also focused on developing our scientific thinking by making predictions, testing our ideas, and measuring the outcomes. Alongside our scientific discoveries, we’ve been learning about wellbeing and how our emotions can affect us. One highlight was creating our own calming bottles called “shaky brains” using water, glitter, food colouring, and sand. These bottles have helped us understand that, like the glitter, our emotions can settle when we take time to calm down. But when we’re overwhelmed, things can feel shaken up. They’re now a special part of our mindfulness routine after lunch, helping us re-centre and refocus for learning.
What a busy few weeks we have had in Mini Macs! We are very excited to be welcoming so many new families into our community.
